Zetterberg - Weiss (in place of the injured Datsyuk) - Abdelkader
Tatar - Sheahan - Jurco
Nyquist - Helm - Franzen
Miller - Glendening - Andersson

-Weiss wont play C on 1st line. it will be Z
-Franzen wont be on the 3rd line and neither will Nyquist. Jurco will be one of the guys on the 3rd line. the other? Abdelkader??

Seems strange that they would keep XQ up if he hadn't already beat out some vets. You would think that's means they're probably trying to trade Kindle (maybe he was a plan C for the Islanders?) since I doubt anybody will claim Lashoff off of waivers. Of course I gave up on trying to read the Wings management's minds a few years ago, somebody might just want to play with his head.

Agree with you. I think we are gonna see something like:

Nyquist-Z-Franzen
Tatar-Sheahan- Jurco
Abs-Weiss/helm-Weiss/helm
Miller glendening Andersson

Man, what did Oulette do to piss you off so much? Quincey stunted Smith's Development enough already I'd never pair him with a young guy again.

Yeah my 2/3 were interchangeable

I'd still prefer glen denying to not be there...helm,Andy,miller,Abby,z can all kill penalties....glendening offers no offensive value

Cleary waived please before he plays 10 games and costs 1.9 million on the cap to send down instead of 600K.

I don't know, in my perfect world I would pair Quincey with Lashoff...in GR.

I'd probably go with Smith (since the damage has probably already been done) or DeKeyser (he didn't seem to regress as much as Smith when paired with Quincey).

He's going to go on IR after he plays in 11 games. Even if it's only John Scott minutes because the Wings are trying to be loyal to him.

Can you put a player on IR if they aren't hurt? Seems like A) a dyck move and B) something the CBA should have addressed...

They can't put him on LTIR if he isn't really injured since Bettman can do an investigation and punish the Wings if he finds he isn't really injured which could include fines or loss of draft picks.

Loyalty to a player that refused a longer term deal from the Wings to test the UFA market and then failed miserably to produce after they took him back anyways is just plain stupidity. A Gm's job is to ice the best team possible to win not to give charity deals and roster spots to someone who clearly doesn't deserve it. Wings resurrected his career and gave him a bunch of seasons more than he probably would have otherwise along with a Stanley Cup ring...they don't owe him anything.

The Wings are starting to become the Tigers, their GM's somehow believe that bringing back the same core of guys from the year before will somehow be different than the previous year without making any real changes that are needed, ugh

Kronwall-Ericsson

Scratched: Cleary, Lashoff

Kindl gone.

When Pav comes back Andersson will most likely become the odd man out because Babs likes Luke. Pav would center Hank and Nyquist, Abdelkader drops to 4th.

Funny to me how people still count out the wings...not saying I'm confident we are a cup contender but how is a team who had the second most man games lost to injury last year and still made the playoffs considered to be on the outside looking in?

Boston is still solid all around yes but after that?

Tbl who has a lot of my rookies who had one good season and could potentially regress?

MTL who somehow made it to the conference finals because they can ride their goalie? Their number 1 dman is basically a forward playing defence...Whois their next best player after patchioretty?

Toronto who still seems to have no goaltending and no leadership but every year they do bad there is some excuse about their luck or how close they were. To success lol

I'm not I saying these teams are bad but honestly thy aren't Chicago, la, Anaheim minny, Colorado etc...

Part of this ill agree with, part i disagree

People are always going to say were finally going to miss the playoffs, i dont think we will but haters gonna hate.

But TBL, how do you not see massive improvements from a an already great team last year.. they picked up stralman, boyle and nabokov (who is a better back up than what they had) - they also have drouin coming in this year and callahan (who i know isnt BRAND new), but still in general, this team is much better IMO

Toronto isnt a BAD team, they just had a HORRIBLE stretch and have a bad habbit of collapsing under pressure, i doubt that 10+ game losing streak happens again and theyve also made improvements although not quite as bold as TBL

Montreal is the one id pretty much agree with, i dont think they are as good as everyone makes out, but price is the man, and everyone behind BOS/TAMPA is not that awesome, so you never know right?

My ATLANTIC prediciton is

Boston
Tampa
Montreal
Toronto
Detroit
Florida
Buffalo
Ottowa

Sorry I suppose I wasn't clear...I was not implying these teams are bad or that we would finish above them I simply don't understand that ppl seem to almost think it's guaranteed we don't make it. I don't see these teams being leaps and bounds better than us. IMO Boston and TBL are the only team better than us.

If the rookies on Tampa can continue their play then yes I do agree their offseason moves have made them better. Drouin as a rookie always has concerns but he does look to be a solid player.

I'm still not convinced on Toronto because they lack leadership and coaching. They will continue to have those bad stretches and struggles under pressure until they learn how to win consistently and they need vets to do that...they honestly have no proven captain....maybe rob ideas can help

MTL we agree...they are good because they have price...tokarski actually played valiantly in the playoffs but they weren't good enough in front of him. Basically of their top 6 I'd take galchenyuk and patchioretty...that's about it but I don't see their lineup being better than ours

If healthy I don't see it being unlikely we finish 3rd behind TBL and Boston but also your prediction isn't far fetched either. I just don't understand the constant bashing when I think we have a solid young core. I'm not saying Stanley cup contenders so don't call me a homer but I think we're on par if not better than MTL and Toronto

No youre not wrong, no where near a homer statement, i agree im tired of the bashing especially from fans, but they care about the team and so they are entitled to feel the way they want. I just think the biggest problem isnt that we arent good, but we didnt make any improvements over the offseason where as just about every other team has, so if we baaaaarely slid into the playoffs last year and got smoked first round ... how can we expect anything better this year...?

the absolute only possibilities of this would lie in pav and Z being healthy a whole season, franzen being more consistent, and howie have a rebound year.. that and/or making a GOOD trade, which isnt very likely..

so i think well make it, but i also think itll be very similar to last year, we BARELY make it, and then get bounced first round.

That's fair...I just feel a more healthy season overall all round...Howard will improve and also the kids have another year under their belt and with be better...that's just what I think is a realistic possibility ... If we miss the playoffs just finish last like the pens did to get Crosby, malkin, fleury and letang lool

Do a fire sale to teams like Edmonton, Calgary, Florida and Carolina and Buffalo for their firsts. We'll be contenders again by 2020.
